Time of Mourning

Yesterday afternoon Doane's oldest sister was traveling home from vacation with her family, and was in a serious car accident. They were over an hour away from a city, so by the time the rescue workers got to them, her husband had died. Her three boys were taken to the hospital, then one of the boys was life-flighted somewhere else. My sister-in-law and her daughter are okay.
When I got the news, I was just in shock! You never know when you will lose someone you love. I have a great appreciation for this, as I was faced with a daily thought of "what will happen to Doane?" when he was deployed.
As a family (extended and immediate), we're all shell-shocked over this. He was a really good man, a great husband, and an awesome father. I wish there was a way we could take away, or at least ease, her pain. Please pray for us, and especially my sister-in-law and her family. And remember to hug and kiss your loved ones every day. I am so grateful for the promise of eternal families!
