Giveaway Potential from Jill
Okay friends, it's time for another link, because I want to encourage all my blog readers to visit homemadebyjill's blog. She is trying to get 150,000 visitors (for what, I'm not sure), but to do it, she's thinking about doing a giveaway. Let me tell you, something "homemade" from Jill as a giveaway present would be awesome! So, get your fingers ready to do some clicking and visit her site, and keep checking back to see when she decides to do the giveaway, so you can enter! Here's a link to her blog: http://homemadebyjill.blogspot.com/

Blog Stalkers
Okay, so this is kind of odd, but I found it (in a round-about sort of way) on a friend's blog, and I got curious. There is a new widget you can add to your blog, which allows you to see who is following your blog. So you've got links to the side of blogs that YOU follow, but you never know who is following yours. So for those of you who want to come out the closet - so to speak - and admit that you follow someone's blog, see if they've added this new widget to their blog, and they can know that you at least look in on them every once in a while. It's kinda coo1! (Unless you don't have anyone willing to admit they visit, [or in my case] no one actually follows your blog, then it's kinda depressing.....)
So I'll just sit back and see if anyone subscribes to my blog. Wish me luck!
Bunk Beds and Velociraptors
This is kinda funny. Click on the link to see how long you'd survive!
I could survive for 51 seconds chained to a bunk bed with a velociraptor

Old Tyme Photo
I got off my proverbially duff and took the picture down to scan it, so I could post it here on my blog. Coincidentally, I picked up some pictures I had taken of the boys, and I needed the bigger frame for their picture, so I HAD to take our picture out....
Anyway, this is the photo I mentioned we had taken at the count fair this year. For those of you in my ward, you may recognize the pic of Doane from our hoe-down last year at thr Rodeback's. It works great! Doane was at his two-week drill, so he couldn't be in the picture in person, but we wanted to make sure he was included.

2008 County Fair
Okay, so I'm slowly getting caught up on my summer posts.....and I'll continue on with events at the Fair!
First of all, I would just like to thank Janice Hansen for telling me all about submitting stuff for Scouts to be judged, and helping me through the process. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of anything we entered, either for Jacob or myself, but at least we entered! Jacob got three blue ribbons and one red ribbon. I (along with Mindy, because she made it with me) got a red ribbon for a blanket we stitched for Jessica's new baby. It's adorable, and one of my favorite ones yet! She was out of town, and it's in the midle of the summer, so I knew she wouldn't need it. I had her hubby bring it over before he left to go up to meet her, and I took it the next day to submit it. Sadly, on the closing day of the fair, when you go to pick up your entries, Jacob's Bionicle entry had been stolen from another kid. I guess their judges/supervisors weren't entirely on the ball, and let some kid have it without the claim ticket - which you're SUPPOSED to have before you can pick anything up. Jacob was understandably upset, but I don't think it will deter him or me from entering again next year. It's a good experience!
Moving along, I took these pictures one day when I took the kids to the fair without Doane. I'll have to motivate myself to post the picture we had taken, because it's funny, but for now, here are the kids enjoying the rides and their prize - which I won for them....
This is Dean enjoying his first ride, and I say enjoying because the ride hasn't started yet.
After the ride started, Dean wasn't too sure, but he toughed it out. =I decided that maybe I should send him on the next ride sitting by his big brother Jacob, with Patrick in the car ahead of them. Apparently that wasn't a good idea, either, because he only lasted once around the track before the operator stopped it so Dean could get off, and Patrick escaped with him. So just Jacob ended up enjoying that ride!
After the roller coaster fiasco, Dean was done with rides. We went over to a ball toss, where if you make it in, you get a goldfish. Each of the boys got WELL over the number of balls they were actually allowed, and of course none of them made it in. So I took the last ball or two, and made one in. As a reward, the attendant picked out FOUR goldfish for us. Pretty cool, huh?
Jacob and Patrick wanted to use their last tickets to go on this balloon ride, and I got a LOT of pictures of it, but it's kind of hard to make the camera phone take the picture while the ride is going around, so this is the best shot I could get of the two sitting together in the balloon basket...
That is until I took a picture of them after the ride stopped - duh for me!
And that concludes our adventures at the fair - until I become un-lazy and scan the picture we had taken at the old-time photos. Hope you've enjoyed another addition of our summer fun!

Hee-hee, I have a good rating. I'm surprised, because one of my favorite words is poo with a "cr" start and an "ap" end. I can't actually spell it out, because it might throw off my rating.....
Thanks Kori for your many great post ideas! Now knock it off, so I can catch up on my other posts!!!!!
