Go Go Go Joseph Cast!

Wow, so it's been a busy few weeks, and last week was absolutely crazy! We started a two-week phase where we rehearsed every day but Sunday on Monday two weeks ago, but last week was the performance week. Man, was I tired when it was over on Friday night. Oh, yeah, we added an extra performance, so we didn't get done until about 11:00 p.m. or thereabouts. It was all I could do to go pick up the kids from the sitter, carry them inside and put them to bed, take off my stage makeup, and collapse in bed. Doane was mysteriously gone, "helping put stuff away" at the theatre. I'm like, "We're striking tomorrow, can't it wait?!" Anyway, I wanted to share some photos that I took with my camera, and I hope to get more from a couple other people, so I can share them, too. It was lots of fun doing this play (even though we didn't have a cactus, Sara), and it was great meeting members of the Stake. We didn't really know anyone going into the play, as Doane and I were the only cast members, and there was one lady in the choir, and one High Councilman who played a guard, and was our all-around fix-it man. All I can say is, YOU WERE AN AWESOME CAST TO WORK WITH!

These lovely ladies are our awesome narrators: Emily, Jasmine, and Melanie. I love them all, but I have to give props to Emily, as she was hilarious!

This is Emily, counting her dividends from all the recording offers she got doing this play.....go Tina Turner!
Doane had to show off the cup he made (the one that Joseph plants in Benjamin's sack). He's so crafty!
These are just some of the wives. We couldn't corral all of them, as it was kind of hectic backstage. But this is Christine (whose father was an awesome Joseph!), Jenni (who made some cool crowns and wigs for the Egypt scene), Tammi, Carrie, Cherie, and me.

Yes, I know. You're all jealous that you couldn't wear this outfit!
Jenni and I couldn't find any of the other wives, so we took our Go Go picture together. Aren't we cute?

I later found Lisa and Cassie, hamming it up for the camera. They are so adorable!
How many men does it take to build a set? I don't know, since they're all just standing around watching.

We are just a couple brothers, good men and silly!

Stay tuned, because I hope to get more pics, including pictures of our Egypt costumes. They're great, let me tell ya!

Weight Watchers Success

For those of you in the blogging world who are keeping tabs on my blog, without commenting so I know you're there (you know who you are SARA!!!!), I just thought I'd post an update after my weigh-in tonight at Weight Watchers. I lost another 3.2 pounds, so overall I have lost 11.2 pounds. Woo-hoo for me! I was a loner tonight, as my two friends couldn't come with me, so I had no one to share my success with. Then, the lady forgot to give me my sticker for losing 10 pounds, and that's the only reason I stayed for the meeting. Dangit! Oh, well, I was still secretly proud of myself, even though I didn't get the recognition of the rest of the group.

I'll just keep truckin', probably making two steps forward and three steps back along the way. Good luck to my fellow bloggers, and lurkers, who are struggling to lose weight. I love you Em!

Time Out for Women

I had never been to a Time Out for Women, sponsored by Deseret Book, so I was really excited to go to this one. I went up to Spokane with six other women, and we all (I think all) had a great time. I thought I'd post some pics from our weekend.

This is what happens when 7 women get together and stay up late talking and eating - everyone is tired in the morning!

Here is Chris and Janet, being bored, so they color, while Mindy pays attention, pen clipped to her book, ready to write notes.

Cynthia decides she needs to look through a magazine, while Chris really gets into coloring.

Of course, Brenda and I had to horse around while we were WAY up in the top balcony. Don't you just love looking up my nose? Good thing I didn't have any boogers!

And finally, we actually had more women than this come from our ward, but SOME of them couldn't wait around for the picture. So this is the only group picture I could get of all of us, after our GREAT conference. What a fun weekend! (PS: The only guy to attend, other than presenters, that I saw, was our very own President Lybbert, on a date weekend with his wife. He's an awesome Patriarch!)

More Joseph Pics!

So, these aren't professional shots, by any means, but they're better than the ones taken by my phone. Hopefully, the ones being taken by Janelle Vernon will be much better!

This has been really fun doing the play, but it's had its moments of total frustration also (like the 11:30 p.m. end time for practice the other night - grr!) I know it will turn out great, though, and hope that everyone can come see it next week!

Gross But Funny

So those of you who saw the previous video, you might notice this one is a bit different. I was concerned that the other one might be a little too offensive, so I exchanged it for this one, because I can totally see it happening. It's really funny (to me), though.
Okay, so those of you who know me well will get this. I enjoy jokes about noises coming from the rear end, and even own a book about them. It's an alphabetical listing of them, and explains what each one is. (I have a sick sense of humor sometimes.) Therefore, I have to post this video, because I find it amusing. Enjoy!

Em will get her prize at rehearsal next week (I'll be gone on Friday and Saturday), and I'll get in touch with Katie this week.

Pay it Forward Update

I was going to post a picture of what the winners of my Pay It Forward would be winning on Tuesday, to maybe entice more people to post a comment. But I decided not to. I'll keep it a surprise, and post it afterwards. But if more people don't comment, then I'll have one lonely prize without an owner!

I'm rather proud of myself for finishing this project (or even doing it in the first place), because I'm not all that crafty. But this was kind of fun, and also a pain in the rumpus, ifyou know what I mean. But they turned out cute!
If you want to know what they are, post a comment, and be a winner!

Go Go Go Joseph!

I hope these pictures turn out, because it was a pretty hilarious day. Next time we have dress rehearsal (Tuesday), I'll try to bring my real camera to get better shots. But do you see what I have to wear?!

And the table in the foreground with the checkered cloth on it? Yeah, Doane made that. He's so crafty!

Pay it Forward

So I was the winner of Jenica's "Pay it Forward" on her blog, and now it's my turn to "pay it forward". This is how it works... You simply make a comment to this post in the next week and on Tuesday -- March 11th, and I will put your name in a drawing and the three people that I draw out get something fun sent to them from me! Winners will be posted on the 12th. If you win, be prepared to PAY IT FORWARD!*must have a blog to play and be able to pay it forward. It's great fun, and you get to share your talents (I know, I can't think of any I have right now, but still play!).... Have FUN!!!!!!!!!!

Fun Times!

For an activity for the sisters in my ward, we had a Love Auction. People donated services or food or other items, we filled out a survey, and our answers earned us "Love Bucks". After we filled out the surveys and got our money, we had an auction for the items that were donated. It was so much fun! Apparently someone thought I wasn't having a good time, but they must not have been looking at me at this moment, where my neighbor is excitedly bidding on an item. I was cracking up! It was pretty funny that night, and good times were had by all.

This is a lady that bid on an item, and was surprised and ecstatic to learn she'd won. If you look closely, you can see my friend Jess peaking over a head in the back.

These two darling friends were sharing the love together. Aren't they cute?
